The Graving Dock - Govan

A stunning five year development programme which will make a massive contribution to the new look of the waterfront on the Clyde in Glasgow. The site of the old Graving Docks will be developed with over 900,000 square feet of new buildings. A mixture of commercial and residential properties will be included, bars, restaurants and other leisure facilities will add to the amenity of the site and provide a valuable attraction to those who will chose to live and work on the waterfront. The nearby SECC, Science Centre and other proposed developments for the area, including a new HQ for BBC Scotland, all point to the waterfront becoming a major focal point in Glasgow life. The partners involved in this development are Bishop Loch and Windex, the masterplan has been commissioned from the Paris based architects of Valode and Pistre. The project will transform the site which has lain empty for over 20 years and help bring back commercial and residential life to Clydeside.

In this image we can see the Science Centre and Imax cinema. Across the river are the car parks of the SECC. The Graving Docks are left of centre, the three basins are clearly shown.
Here we see the development in place. The derelict area is completely transformed. The central basin is utilsed as a water feature. Note the linking bridges between Science Centre and the docks and also from the SECC side of the river.
